Arizona Cardinals
2007 Record: 8-8
ATS: 8-7-1
Super Bowl Odds: 50-1
The cardinals finished the 2007 season at 500 with an 8-8 record. (9-7) against the spread, which was a disappointment for both the Cards fans and ownership. Many were expecting a ten win season and a playoff berth to go with it. The ageless Kurt Warner stepped up and was spectacular in relief of th e injured Matt Leinart to help the Cards end the year with 2 straight wins. That said Leinart is the starting quarterback of this team for now. He needs to earn some job security throwing to Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin. Instead of improving their running game in the entry draft they went towards defense in the first round.
They took Tennessee St. cornerback Dominique Rogers-Cromartie and the Cards are hoping he develops quickly. There were no sure things among the 2008 draft picks, and that could be bad news for the Arizona fan base starving for more success. The cardinals proved to be very profitable for over/under bettors in 2007 posting an impressive 11-5 mark. Arizona finished twelth in total offense and were 5th in scoring. and these numbers are not likely to drop with head coach Ken Whisenhunt handing over the play calling duties to offensive coordinator, Todd Haley. If they can stay healthy and Leinart proves he belongs as the starting quarterback this team has a chance to upset the Seahawks and win the NFC west.
