Thumbs Up Raptors Resurgence (Jack Signing)

The starting line for Toronto now features Bagnarni, Bosh, Turkoglu, DeRozen and Calderon/Jack.

That lineup can make some noise....yes or no?

Absolutely no - the Raptors are no closer to a championship.

For starters, Bosh and Bargnani is the worst defensive front court in the NBA. Secondly, the Raptors still aren't better than Boston, Orlando or Cleveland, and Detroit, Washington, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Chicago are all still probably better than Toronto. Maybe even Charlotte too since they have a better head coach.

The Raptors - at-best - will lose in the first round of the NBA playoffs and at worst, will miss them completely. Knowing that, enjoy the Turkoglu signing - signing a 30-year-old player for five years, a veteran who is off his best season.

I agree with Vegas Dave. Toronto is a long way from a championship calilbur team.

They may not have vaulted themselves into the upper echelon of the NBA, but these moves will make them a better team overall. It is definitely a step in the right direction.

I think it's all smoke and mirrors. The Turkoglu move was a stopgap deal to appease the fans and for Colangelo to keep his job...it wasn't a move close to a championship. I think the Raps will probably get torn down and rebuilt again within the next few years if they really want to try for a title.

Nice to see some chatter about the hometown team. I am sad to say that they are not championship calibre yet but should be much improved this year. Turkoglu and DeRozen means that they won't get crushed on the wing anymore and Jack is a nice backup PG.
