New Jersey to Cover Against Crippled Wizards

Starting the season with injury problems is going to be the Wizards’ biggest obstacle. Gilbert Arenas remains sidelined with a knee injury. On top of that, Brendan Haywood has a torn wrist ligament which might keep him out for the entire NBA season. That leaves the responsibility of this team in the capable hands of Caron Butler and Antawn Jamison.

But the problem for Washington will be taking on a motivated Devin Harris for New Jersey. After being dealt for Jason Kidd at the deadline last year, nobody has more to play for than Devin Harris. Though Vince Carter may be shell shocked at the team he has surrounding him, he’s always had strong games against his former brother-in-law. I like the resiliency of the Wizards, but I like New Jersey since they have the stronger point guard.
