| NBA: Celtics begin Texas triangle Bet on the NBA at Sportsbook.com The Boston Celtics are 20-3 against the Western Conference and 14-9 ATS, but they are about to face their toughest test beginning Monday night in San Antonio. This game starts at 8:30pm ET. Click here for all the latest NBA odds. It’s been a charmed life for the Celtics so far this year after acquiring Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen in the offseason. Those two have combined with Paul Pierce and an underrated supporting cast to become the number one team in the East. Boston is 51-12 heading into a Friday night home game against Utah. They then head out on a road trip which includes Milwaukee on Saturday followed by San Antonio, Houston, Dallas and New Orleans. It’s a brutal schedule, especially the three straight games in the ‘Texas Triangle’, and it could show just how good this Boston team is. The last time Boston started out a long road trip was right after the All-Star break with Garnett returning from his abdominal injury. The C’s dropped the first three games straight-up and ATS to Denver, Golden State and Phoenix before bouncing back against two easier teams, Portland and the Clippers. San Antonio is 44-20 heading into weekend road games at Detroit and Philadelphia. San Antonio has lost three of their last four games (0-4 ATS) after having an 11-game winning streak. Those three losses came on the road against Denver, Phoenix and New Orleans, three very tough places to play. These teams met once already in Boston on February 10th with the Celtics pulling out a 98-90 victory. That was a huge win for Boston as they were playing without Garnett and center Kendrick Perkins. With the two big men out of the lineup, Boston turned to rookie Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis who did a great job defensively on Duncan in the post. Perkins will likely get the assignment on Duncan in this game, but ‘Big Baby’ is available again to use his tremendous girth and force Duncan off the block. In fairness to San Antonio, they were playing without their outstanding point guard, Tony Parker in the first matchup. Parker is the engine that makes this team run and they are a completely different offensive team with him healthy. If you’re looking for motivation in this game, think San Antonio. The Spurs don’t want to get swept against a Boston they could see in the NBA Finals. Also, the Western Conference is so competitive right now that there’s not much of a difference between 1st and 7th in the playoff seedings. Every game is crucial for the Spurs now, especially the home ones. Expect their players to bring their ‘A Game’ and give the Celtics everything they can handle and possibly more.
