After Jimmie Johnson’s victory at Phoenix International Raceway a week or so ago, will the unpredictable results NASCAR bettors have seen this season finally be coming to an end? Johnson’s win last week, which was his first of the season, bumped him up to fourth place in the driver standings and made him a co-favorite on the BetUS Sprint Cup futures odds. Johnson shares that distinction with Carl Edwards and Dale Earnhardt Jr., all at +500. As the back-to-back defending champion, Johnson’s odds will likely continue to go up if he can keep adding checkered flags to his collection.

What about Edwards and Earnhardt Jr.? Edwards currently sits ninth in the Cup standings despite leading the series in wins with three on the season. Edwards would be in second place if not for a 100-point deduction he incurred after failing the post-race inspection following his victory at Las Vegas earlier this season. Earnhardt Jr. has thrived since joining Hendrick Motorsports this season, and he’s climbed up to third place in the points standings after posting six Top 10 finishes.
