| Amazing. Kyle Busch, one of the most hated men in NASCAR wagering this season, and one of the best drivers in NASCAR this season, finished last in the Pocono 500 after getting into an accident. The signs where there, though. Busch crashed his top car during the qualifying round which meant he went into the Pocono 500 without his best stuff. He had no chance really. The winner of the Pocono 500, Kasey Kahne, has started to turn things around. He’s always had the ability. Now, after taking over Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s old number 8 Budweiser car this season, Kahne has suddenly become one of the best drivers in NASCAR. Could Kasey keep it up? Maybe. Let’s get to the sports betting rankings! NASCAR Great Eight 1. Carl Edwards - - BetUS odds 5/1 - - I wanted to keep Kyle in the top spot but his odds are lower then Carl’s and Carl has the ability to be a very steady driver once the real racing starts later this season. Edwards will continue finish in the Top Ten and win races here and there. He’s a great option for online sportsbook fans looking towards someone other then Kyle Busch. 2. Kyle Busch - - BetUS odds 3/1 - - No need to panic just yet, but Busch had a terrible week. Whether or not the youngster can bounce back is the question. All eyes will be on him this week. Two bad weeks in a row would not help me keep my faith in him! 3. Jimmie Johnson - - BetUS odds 7/1 - - The odds on Jimmie to win the Sprint Cup are still very, very good. Johnson loves to turn it on later in the year which means you run the risk of taking lower odds on him if you don’t make an online wager right now. 4. Denny Hamlin - - BetUS odds 10/1 - - Had a chance to win the Pocono 500, but didn’t come through. He’s still the second best driver for Joe Gibbs Racing after Kyle and should improve siginificantly as the year continues. He is a good online wager at 10 to 1 odds. 5. Kasey Kahane - - BetUS odds 16 to 1 - - He’s go the confidence, the car appears good, his crew is doing well, and everybody and their mother likes this guy. Could he continue this and put himself into a position to win his first Sprint Cup Championship? I think so. At 16 to 1 odds, I have to say that putting a wager on Kasey isn’t a bad call. 6. Jeff Gordon - - BetUS odds 8/1 - - There’s plenty of time for Gordon to right what’s wrong with his ship. I’ve decided to lay off the fact that he’s driving like a wuss this year and just say that Gordon still has the skills to pull out a Spring Cup Championship this year. 7. Jeff Burton - - BetUS odds 15/1 - - Burton will hang on just enough to keep himself in the chase. Then, when the real racing starts…who knows? Maybe Burton comes up big and gets the Cup at overlaid odds? 8. Dale Earnhardt Jr. - - BetUS odds 5/1 - - The odds are too low on Jr. for me. I just don’t think he’s a good enough driver to win the Cup. Sure, he’s get Hendrick Motorsports behind him this season, but everybody else’s cars, especially those Joe Gibbs’ machines, have gotten better. Jr.’s driving skills haven’t. A play against at this point. Grab the rest of this article, plus previews, free picks and betting advice at Betus... Last edited by Qbins Missile Crisis : 06-12-2008 at 04:23 PM. |
