MLB Baseball betting: Milwaukee Brewers vs. Chicago Cubs - 2:20PM ET
Wrigleyville received a taste of heaven last night when their beloved Cubbies beat the ever-living tar out of the division rival Milwaukee Brewers. This game was over before it even started as the Chicago Cubs rocked Milwaukee starter Jeff Suppan all over the yard in the first inning to take a 6-0 lead. When the dust cleared, Suppan didn’t survive the 4th allowing 11 hits and 11 runs (8 earned) increasing his ERA a point and a half to 5.19. Cubs starter Ryan Dempster picked up his fourth win of the season to improve to 4-0, but pitching coach Larry Rothschild has to be concerned with his control since he walked five batters for the second time this season. That’s nitpicking though as Chicago’s offense was brilliant including Catcher Geovany Soto, who smacked a pair of three-run bombs for his first multi-homer game in the “Bigs”. His personal best of six RBIs in one game made him the proud owner of the Cubs all time rookie record for RBI’s in the month of April with 20. The 19 runs scored were the most for the Cubs in a single game this season, and it was the fourth time this year they scratched out a double-digit tally. At 17-10, the Cubs sit atop the NL Central tied with St. Louis with Milwaukee only two-games out.
