Gabe Kapler went 3-for-4 with a two-run home run, three runs batted in, and scored three times as the Brewers rallied from an early four-run deficit to down the New York Mets, 9-7.
Corey Hart went 4-for-5, drove in a run and scored, and Rickie Weeks homered and scored three times for the Brewers, who won the last two of the three- game set after dropping three straight overall.
Jeff Suppan was ineffective on the hill for Milwaukee. The veteran surrendered six runs on nine hits in just four innings. Salomon Torres (2-0) pitched two shutout innings of relief to get the win, allowing just one hit and walking three.
Oliver Perez, who came into the game with an 11 2/3 innings scoreless streak, was touched for six runs on eight hits in 4 1/3 innings, and Jorge Sosa (1-1) took the loss after allowing two runs on two hits in 1 2/3 innings. Brian Schneider went 3-for-5 with three RBI for the Mets, who had won three straight before dropping the final two of the series.
