Cliff Lee scattered four hits and one run over 6 2/3 innings as Cleveland clipped Oakland, 2-1, in the finale of a three-game set from McAfee Coliseum. Lee (1-0) struck out four and walked only one, holding the Athletics at bay during a 108-pitch performance. Joe Borowski hurled a scoreless ninth to earn his second save. "Avoiding the sweep makes (this start) mean a little more," Lee said. "We don't want to come out of here getting swept.
