MLB Baseball Betting Odds Los Angeles Angels at Minnesota Twins
The Los Angeles Angels, (2-1) made my selection in the BetUS Sportsbook yesterday look good by beating the feisty Minnesota Twins 1-0, behind a spectacular performance from starter Joe Saunders, but will likely need more of the same when the face a Twins team that is apparently going to be better than advertised this season despite their 2-1 record coming into this matchup.
Veteran hurler, Ervin Santana, tonight’s starter for the Angels, the reigning champs in the AL West, is hoping to bounce back from a poor 2007 season in which he went just 7-14 in 26 starts and two relief appearances with 126 strikeouts, 58 walks and a 5.76 ERA after going 28-16 over the previous two season with a 4.42 ERA. Santana also allowed a team-high 26 home runs.
The Twins will send young right-hander Kevin Slowey to the mound and hope the 23-year-old with the good breaking balls can build upon the success he had in his rookie season last year.
Slowey went 4-1 last season in 11 starts and two relief appearances, recording 47 strikeouts, 11 walks and a 4.72 ERA.
