I guess I'm still "blue" here, but I have a ?. Can you help me out bro?
I usually just make my picks as $25 dollar plays, so with juice that's usually $27.50 to win $25. Unless I'm betting Moneylines, which I don't to often, then its obviously more to throw down to win, if betting favs.
Ok, but my ? is this...If my 1 Unit play is $25, 2 Unit $50, 3 Unit $100, 4 Unit $200, and 5 Unit or More is $500 (I'd never bet more than this on a game, unless I won lottery), how do I figure out how many Units I'm up or down....???
Here's your games you picked yesterday...
NY Mets -1.5 RL -105
Houston -105
Yanks -1.5 RL -130
LA Dodgers +120
Can you explain it using my 1 unit theory with your games won/loss? Thanks I appreciate this, and keep in mind my MATH skill suck, I really only bet for entertainment, cuz I can afford it I guess, (no wife no kids), but this Units thing I've seen in other forums and its kinda facinating
Well lets first start with a "unit". Lets call it $10 per unit. 2 units would be $20, 3 units would be $30 and so on. Not doubling the bet like you were (25-50-100-200) A $ unit stays the same through-out.
I actually did my math wrong yesterday:
NY Mets -1.5 RL -105 L -1.05
Houston -105 L -1.05
Yanks -1.5 RL -130 L -1.3
LA Dodgers +120 W +1.2
Totals -2.2 units down. So if I were betting $100 a unit, I would be down $220. This make sense to you now?
Unit is just the denomination of bet. Typically a unit = $100 but you can make a unit anything you want but as Mike said a 1 unit for you should be $25 while a 3 unit would be $75 and a 5 unit would be $125.
With MLB it is a little different with "units" so I just went to $$$ in my calculations in my signature.
