On Opening Day, the International League began a season in which it would celebrate 125 years of baseball history, making it the second oldest league in all of USA professional sports. Fifty-nine different cities have fielded IL clubs over the years, with Rochester having seniority -- a part of the league since 1888 -- and Buffalo and Syracuse, which both joined in 1915, coming in second.
