    Default Thoughts on Curt Shilling

In respect to Shiilings announcment to retire this past month. Do you think he should be inducted to the baseball Hall of Fame?
the comparison list for him and the 10 most similar starters in baseball history shows why the decision on electing him to the Hall of Fame will be such a great debate.

There are three Hall of Famers on this list of Schilling’s statistical peers and one future inductee (John Smoltz). (Note: This is regular-season stats only):

Yrs W-L Pct ERA CG SHO IP BB SO

Schillings gets in but not on the 1st ballot. He was too big of an arrogant prick to get in on the 1st try. 2nd ballot he will get in. REMEMBER...The writers hold bigtime grudges against players they didn't like. And Schilling has plenty that don't like him.

Its the hall of fame, not the hall of numbers. While I think he will get in, it won't be the first ballet, and probably not the 2nd either

I tend to agree with both of you on the 2nd ballot and the fact that Curt has pissed off his share of the media.

    Default I vote no

While he has certainly had some dizzying highs he was basically slightly better than average for half his career. He has become more well known as a blowhard than anything else. (Can you tell I don't like the guy)
