The Boston Red Sox and the Oakland Athletics will both be gunning for a victory on Tuesday when they open the 2008 season at the Tokyo Dome in Japan.

The Red Sox will give the ball to starter Daisuke Matsuzaka in this one. Righthander Matsuzaka was 17-13 last season with a 4.45 ERA.

It'll be Joe Blanton toeing the rubber for the Athletics in this contest. Righthander Blanton was 14-10 with a 3.95 ERA last season.
