| MLB Baseball Betting Odds - Minnesota at Boston BetUS MLB betting odds: Boston -175, Minnesota +155; Total 9 The Boston Red Sox (53-39) are at familiar Fenway Park on Tuesday when they take on the hot - and surprising - Minnesota Twins (50-39) in an American League game that is set to get underway at 7:05 PM ET. Right-hander Nick Blackburn (7-4, 3.78 ERA) takes the mound for the Twins, while southpaw Jon Lester (7-3, 3.21 ERA) gets the starting assignment for the Red Sox. At BetUS online sportsbook, Boston is listed as a -175 online wagering favorite (Minnesota is +155), with a total of nine runs (the Over is -120, while the Under is even money). Here are some of the MLB Baseball betting trends as they relate to this MLB wagering matchup: * MINN has won 16 of its last 19 games * MINN has played six of its last nine games UNDER the total * MINN has won five of its last seven road games * MINN has played four of its last five road games UNDER the total * BOS has lost seven of its last ten games * BOS has played ten of its last 15 games UNDER the total * BOS has won four of its last five home games * BOS has played its last five home games UNDER the total In the HEAD-TO-HEAD sports betting trends: * MINN has won four of the last six meetings * Nine of the last 13 meetings have gone UNDER the total * BOS has won four of the last six meetings as the home team * Five of the last six meetings in Boston have gone UNDER the total The Red Sox are firmly in second place in the American League East, and while they hold a 4.5-game lead over the Yankees, they are four games in back of the Tampa Bay Rays, and six games behind in the loss column. Boston still has a 32-10 home record, which is a half-game behind the Cubs for the best record of that kind (33-10). Last night Daisuke Matsuzaka pitched 7-1/3 scoreless innings as the Red Sox registered a 1-0 win in the first game of this series. But the Twins are right in the middle of things in the American League Central, a game and a half behind the Chicago White Sox. Nick Blackburn was brilliant last time out, blanking the Tigers on three hits over seven innings. In fact, three of his last four outings have been stellar, and he has been a key part of the Twins' resurgence. In his last four starts, he has struck out 17 batters while walking just two. Minnesota has won his last four starts. Jon Lester was also great last time out, throwing a five-hit shutout at the Yankees, as the Red Sox won by a 7-0 score. In Lester's last 13 starts, he has had only one bad outing, when he gave up six runs in five innings against the Houston Astros on June 28. Even with that relative failure (which was an 11-10 Boston loss), Lester has had a 2.38 ERA in his last six outings. And he has a 5.4-to-1 strikeout-walk ratio during that time. Even as good as the Red Sox are at Fenway, this is a big price to lay with them in this game, against a team that has won 16 of its last 19 games. Blackburn is in good enough form that we are going to back him at +155 in this one, in the BetUS Major League Baseball betting odds.
