| MLB Baseball Betting Odds - Baltimore at Chicago Cubs BetUS MLB Betting Odds: Chicago -190, Baltimore +160 The Baltimore Orioles (39-36), who have surprisingly hung in there in the American League's East division, will try to take their second in a row from the Chicago Cubs (48-29), leaders in the National League Central, as these two interleague opponents clash again in the friendly confines of Wrigley Field (natural turf) in Chicago on Wednesday night. Game time is 8:05 PM ET. It's a pair of left-handers on Wednesday night, as Brian Burres (6-5, 5.31 ERA) of the Orioles faces off against Ted Lilly (7-5, 4.71 ERA) of the Cubs. At BetUS online sportsbook, Chicago is listed as a -190 sports betting favorite (Baltimore is +160). Here are some of the MLB Baseball betting trends as they relate to this baseball gambling matchup: * BALT has won five of its last seven games * BALT has played four of its last five games OVER the total * BALT has lost four of its last six road games * BALT has played four of its last five road games OVER the total * CHI has won nine of its last 14 games * CHI has played four of its last six games OVER the total * CHI has won 14 of its last 15 home games * CHI has played four of its last five road games UNDER the total Whatever is keeping the Baltimore Orioles in the American League East race, you have to hand it to them, and manager Dave Tremblay. After all, Baltimore is in the top ten in only one category, on offense or defense (homers, where they are ninth). There isn't a member of the regular batting order hitting over .300. Jeremy Guthrie is the only starting pitcher with an ERA under 4.46. And the O's have been out-stolen 69-48 by foes. Whether it's with mirrors or not, the Orioles are currently just 6.5 games in back of the Red Sox in the AL East race. The Cubs have been getting some help in holding their lead in the National League Central, because St. Louis has not played particularly well. They are three and a half games in front of the Cards, and lost a game last night, as St. Louis beat Detroit and the Cubs fell to the Orioles by a 7-5 score, as Guthrie was not great but good enough for the win. The Cubs, who have the best home record in the NL, lost just their tenth home game of the season against 32 wins. Ted Lilly, the Chicago starter, shut out the Orioles over six innings the last time he faced therm. But that was back in June of 2006, when Lilly was a member of the Toronto Blue Jays. Not that what he's been up to lately wouldn't be enough to encourage a strong recommendation. Lilly has compiled a 2.69 ERA, and as usual, he's been striking out people. More importantly, the Cubs have won eight of his last ten starts. He's made up for time lost by an awful beginning that saw him sitting with a 9.17 ERA through April 17. Brian Burres has had a season that is somewhat opposite that of Lilly. Burres gave up one run or less in three of his first four starts, but in his last five outings, he has amassed an earned run average of 10.27. That's not encouraging. The Cubs, as mentioned, don't lose many games at home; in fact, last night's loss was their first at Wrigley in a span of 15 games. The Cubs also have had success against southpaws, winning 16 of 24 times. This ads up to a recommendation, albeit not a big one, on the Cubs at the -190 price in the BetUS Major League Baseball betting odds.
