| BetUS MLB betting odds: Kansas City -160, Colorado +140; Total 8.5 The Kansas City Royals (34-43) look to continue their spirited play on Tuesday night as they take on the Colorado Rockies (32-45) in the second game of their interleague betting series. Game time is 8:10 PM ET at Kauffman Stadium (natural turf) in Kansas City. Southpaw Jorge De La Rosa (2-3, 6.88 ERA) gets the start for the Rockies, while Kansas City counters with right-hander Zach Greinke (6-4, 3.33 ERA). At BetUS online sportsbook, Kansas City is listed as a -160 sports betting favorite (Colorado is +140), with a total of 8.5 runs (the Over is -120, while the Under is even money). Here are some of the MLB Baseball betting trends as they relate to this matchup: * COL has won 12 of its last 19 games * COL has played seven of its last ten games UNDER the total * COL has won four of its last six road games * COL has played six of its last nine road games UNDER the total * KC has won eight of its last nine games * KC has won four of its last five home games * KC has played six of its last seven home games OVER the total In the HEAD-TO-HEAD sports gambling trends: * COL has won five of the last eight meetings * Seven of the last ten meetings have gone OVER the total Kansas City rode a three-run homer by Mark Teahen to score its seven win in the last eight tries, an 8-4 triumph over the Rockies on Monday night. Jeff Francis just could not get the job done for Colorado in that one. The Rockies will seek better luck with Jorge De La Rosa, who has struck out 18 batters while walking only two in his last two starts. De La Rosa went six innings against the Indians last time out, giving up three runs, and before that he shut out the White Sox on one hit over five innings. So he's in nice form. But he isn't pitching any better than Zach Greinke, Kansas City's ace, right now. Greinke, who went through a rough patch of four starts where he gave up 21 runs in 24 innings, has come back very, very strong, stifling the D-Backs on three hits over seven scoreless innings on June 13, then, last Thursday, he throttled the Cardinals, giving up only two hits over seven frames. That was nothing to sneeze at, because those are two teams who, if the season ended today, would be in the National League playoffs. Is this enough to lay the price with the Royals? Perhaps. But we do like the idea of cashing in on the fact that these two talented pitchers are looking very strong right now. And considering these are two of the least accomplished offensive teams in the majors (Colorado is 13th in scoring in the NL, while KC is 12th in the AL), we're going with the total here - more specifically, UNDER 8.5 runs as it is posted in the BetUS Major League Baseball betting odds. JAY'S PLAY: UNDER 8.5 (Even) Go to the BetUS sportsbook today and take a swing at Major League Baseball online betting. Last edited by Qbins Missile Crisis : 06-24-2008 at 05:36 PM. |
