| MLB Baseball Betting Odds - Seattle at N.Y. Mets BetUS MLB Betting Odds: N.Y. Mets -170, Seattle +150; Total 7 The New York Mets (37-37) send their best pitcher to the hill on Monday night in an effort to climb over the .500 mark as they tackle the highly-disappointing Seattle Mariners (26-49) in an interleague betting contest that is set to get underway at 7:10 PM ET at Shea Stadium (natural turf) in Flushing Meadow. Felix Hernandez (6-5, 2.87 ERA), who has done an extremely solid job, is the starter for Seattle, while the Mets counter with two-time Cy Young winner Johan Santana (7-5, 3.04 ERA). At BetUS online sportsbook, New York is listed as a -170 online wagering favorite (Seattle is +150), with a total of seven runs (the Over is -120, while the Under is even money). Here are some of the MLB Baseball betting trends as they relate to this sports gambling matchup: * SEA has lost seven of its last nine games * SEA has lost 11 of its last 15 road games * SEA has played four of its last five games OVER the total * SEA has played five of its last seven road games UNDER the total * NY has won five of its last seven games * NY has won eight of its last 12 home games In the HEAD-TO-HEAD sports betting trends: * SEA has won the last five meetings * Four of the last six meetings have gone UNDER the total Seattle is already out of the running in the American League West, lagging 19.5 games behind the Angels. And the percentages don't seem to play very well for the M's here; they are just 11-25 away from home, and against left-handed starters they have had very little luck, winning just five of 17 tries. And here they go against one of the more accomplished southpaws in the game. Johan Santana has been pretty steady for the Mets, if not spectacular. Only three times has he surrendered as many as four runs in a start. He's been very strong against Seattle, which of course goes back to his tenure with the Twins. In his last five starts against the Mariners, he has chalked up a 2.45 ERA and 1.00 WHIP ratio. Santana was outdueled by the Angels' John Lackey last time, and gave up four runs in six innings of a Mets loss in Anaheim. Before that he had yielded just two runs in three starts. The Mets don't seem to be scoring for him; they have tallied only six runs in his last three outings. They lost all those games. Felix Hernandez actually has a better ERA than Santana, and part of that is that he has been surging lately. To begin the season he went 15 innings without allowing a run (though Seattle lost those two games). He started moving back into that form, going three straight starts without allowing anyone to cross the plate. In his last four outings, he not only has a 0.95 ERA, but has struck out 29 batters with only five walks. Seattle just doesn't hit the right-handers, does it? But this is an inviting price. At +150, we'll take a shot with Seattle, the underdog in the BetUS Major League Baseball betting odds.
