Kentucky Derby 5th place finisher, Recapturetheglory has developed a fever and may not be present for the Preakness on May 17th.
Assistant trainer Lara Van Deren said the colt became feverish Friday night and his temperature spiked at 102 degrees Saturday morning. The horse was given medication as a precaution and will have blood work done.
Recapturetheglory won't go to Pimlico later today as planned.
The colt won the Illinois Derby and held the 18th post position in the Kentucky Derby. He was second place in the race before fallin to fifth behind winner Big Brown.
