I'm pretty much a rank amateur when it comes to horse racing. Most of my knowledge of the sport comes from reading Charles Bukowski books and drinking draft beer at a seedy little track on the industrial waterfront near my home. Last year, after starting my work at this fine Bodog publication, I found it in my job description to take an interest in the Kentucky Derby betting. With the little information I had, I picked Street Sense at 4-1. Cha-ching!
Chances are that my win was just the principle of favorability rearing its head, but I'm hooked. This year, I'll make the trip to old Kentucky myself. In fact, I'll make the trek to watch all of the Triple Crown races with my own eyes, breaking down the befuddling, often bizarre betting ins and outs of the races in an attempt to help you, dear reader, make winning horse racing picks.
