The Final Jewel-The Belmont

While the final leg of the Triple Crown is still a couple of weeks away (Sat. June 6th) it is not to early to start taking a look at some potential favorites.

Rachael Alexandra, if she runs will be a prohibitive favorite after dusting the field in the Preakness.

Mine That Bird, who finished a close second in the Preakness should be right up there.

A couple of horses who ran the Derby but skipped the Preakness could be back in the field for the Belmont, Chocolate Candy and Dunkirk.

The field will take shape over the next few weeks so stay tuned......

The Belmont is a longer race than the Preakness which seems to favor Mine That Bird. I'll have to take a look at the rest of the field, but this is shaping up as a two horse race.
