Colonel John Scores Razor Thin Travers Win

In many ways, the Travers Stakes card at Saratoga on August 23rd and the Pacific Classic card at Del Mar on August 24th played out as if it were a two-day Breeders' Cup extravaganza.

On each program were important $1 million races that provided their share of electrifying rallies and tight finishes, along with several supporting graded stakes including other Grade 1s, some of which produced their share of box car mutual payoffs.
