The Islanders have won six straight and are in the thick of a race to earn a playoff birth. Now, NJ is a phenomenal home team while the Isles are .500 on the road, so one might think this gives the Devils the edge. But the reality is that the Long Islanders have dominated this rivalry of late. The Isles are 5-0 against the Devils this year, including road wins in New Jersey. They seem to have New Jersey’s number. This could be a goaltender’s duel between Marty Brodeur and Rick DiPietro, who have both been terrific this season. With 6 straight wins though, the Isles are playing their best hockey of the season. As a road underdog, they are high value.
