The Islanders have been going for broke lately, pushing much better teams to the brink in their last five games. With a huge win over Detroit, where the Wings were 4-1 favorites to win the game, the Islanders have been pushing the limits lately. A 5-3 loss against Washington may have taken the wind out of their sails last night. With Montreal’s 4-1 SU record against the Islanders when visiting Rhode Island, I’m not about to bet against Gainey tonight. Long term, absolutely. But short term? Not a chance.
