Montreal Not Proving Themselves So Far

It’s far too early in the season to throw the Habs under the bus, but they’re looking like the Senators of two years ago. So it’s kind of ironic they face the sinking ship known as the Ottawa Senators tonight. Montreal is only 2-5 SU in their last 7 games, and have gone 1-4 SU in their last 5 road tests. They’ve historically been much better than the Senators recently, going 4-2 SU in their last 6 meetings with Ottawa.

The Senators have stumbled out of the gates, with very little hope in sight. They’ve gone winless in their last 5 games, and the threat of their vaunted top line have been over exaggerated at best. Spezza, Alfredsson and Heatley have disappeared in hockey circle banter around the world. They’re no longer the threat that they used to be. Montreal still has a chance to prove themselves, so side on the smart bet.
