England's Justin Rose is the clubhouse leader after completing his first round of the 2008 Masters at Augusta National. Rose rattled off six birdies between the sixth and 13th holes after starting the day with a couple of bogeys.
Trevor Immelman is tied with Rose atop the leaderboard at four-under through 17.
The heavy favorite, Tiger Woods, had a so-so day and finished at even par. It could've been worse after bogeys at 13 and 14, but Woods answered with a chip-in eagle on 15.
Other notable scores at the year's first major: Jim Furyk (-2 through 9), Phil Mickelson (-1 through 10), Vijay Singh (E through 10), Ernie Els (+1 through 9), Geoff Ogilvy (+3 F).
