Any early thoughts on the third major of the season the (British) Open Championship?
Common sense would point to Tiger as he is due to win a Major, but for some reason I do not see him winning next week.

Here's my top 5 picks...
1. Sergio Garcia (Has to come out of his current season funk - My pick to win it)
2. Padraig Harrington - The guy almost didn't even play last year with a wrist injury (gotta have him in there for his experience with weather/links style, plus the 3-peat would be cool)
3. Kenny Perry - Really doesn't stand a chance, but Id love to see him win a major after Augusta. His high draw will not play in the wind well.
4. Ian Poulter - Been practicing real hard this year, good ball flight for conditions
5. Tiger - Obviously never want to bet against him
Sleeper Picks
1. Rory McIlroy - would be a great story
2. Paul Casey - 4 wins worldwide this year
Oh and yeah I just heard from a friend at ESPN that the Open will be promoting "tweeting" after players' rounds. (Another reason to pick Ian Poulter I guess)

I like golfs picks with Poulter and Garcia. I also agree Tiger is never a good bet against.

From your list I like your sleeper picks the best- Paul Casey and Rory McIlroy. Both are playing extremely well and the course and the weather(if it turns nasty) favor their game.
