| PGA Golf Betting – Stanford St. Jude Championship With the U.S. Open looming and Tiger’s return from knee surgery just around the corner, many big names have taken a pass on this week’s sports betting opportunity in the Standford St. Jude Championship in Memphis, Tennessee. In fact, the top 9 golfers in the world are all skipping this golf betting event. But I guess nobody told 10th ranked Vijay Singh. He is proudly teeing it up and guess what - he is the tournament sports betting favorite at 14/1. There is no better time for Vijay to grab his first win of the season, and carry some momentum into the second major of the season next weekend. In a dozen starts this year he has two second place finishes and a total of four top-10's. Throw down a nice bet on Vijay to win or place. David Toms’ PGA betting odds are at 15/1 and could be your winning ticket this week, he always does well in Memphis and has two of his last four wins came at this tournament. Toms was also a runner up in 2005 Sergio Garcia is the 2nd highest ranked golfer in this tournament is listed at 15/1 to win. Since his big win at THE PLAYERS Championship, he placed 45th last weekend at the Memorial. To make a run, Sergio needs to work on his putting as he’s averaging just over 30 putts per round – ranking him 272nd on Tour. Kenny Perry at 20/1 got the monkey of his back last week getting his first win of the season, but I think it might be a little much to ask for him to win back to back tournaments? Canadian Stephen Ames is back this week and is 20/1. He finished 5th at THE PLAYERS Championship and has 4 top-10 finishes this season. He is still after his first win of the season and is very capable of doing that this week in Memphis. Justin Leonard won this tournament back 2005 beating out David Toms by 1 stroke. Leonard could be your sleeper pick at 28/1 Defending champ Woody Austin hasn't done much since and is a long shot at 60 to 1 Lastly, don’t forget about Fred Funk, who has missed the last 3 cuts, but always seems to play well in Memphis and offers betters up a big return if he come thru at 110 to 1.
