The Nuggets travel to Los Angeles looking to extend a seven-game winning streak against the struggling Clippers tonight. Denver has lost three of its last four on the road, averaging 95.0 points which is 6.4 below its season average although the Nuggets have three road wins over the Clippers and seven straight victories in the series and Denver has beaten Los Angeles by an average of 11.4 points since 2007. Carmelo Anthony has scored a combined 66 points in his last two road games versus the Clippers and had a big game against the Raptors despite suffering from a severe migraine, his first in a couple of years. He had 32 points and five assists in 30 minutes against Toronto while he is averaging 29.9 points, topping 30 in seven of 11 games. J.R. Smith has been effective in coming off the bench to help Anthony carry the scoring load scoring 22.3 points a game after being suspended for reckless driving over the summer. Los Angeles may be without second-year guard Eric Gordon, who missed a 106-91 loss to Memphis on Wednesday night due to a strained groin as the Clippers fell to 1-8 when Gordon doesn't play. Gordon is averaging 18.9 points and 1.7 steals a game. Center Chris Kaman is averaging 21.5 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks a a game for the Clippers but he will go up against one of the toughest front liones in the Western Conference tonight. Denver just has too much offensive fire power for the Clippers and with Jr Smith back, it give them that extra fire power off the bench. THe Nuggets will continue to dominate the Clippers with double digit wins as they have done since 2007 against this team.

Carolina has won four of its last six to climb back into contention in the NFC wild-card race after beating the Falcons 28-19 last week. Carolina's running backs Johnathan Stewart and DeAngelo Williams combined for 174 yards on the ground with 30 rushing attempts. Jake Delhomme completed 15-of-24 passes for 195 yards and a pair of touchdowns without being intercepted although Delhomme still has an awful 7/13 touchdown-interception ratio for the season but hasn’t been picked off in three consecutive games in which they have won. All-Pro receiver Steve Smith also scored 2 touchdowns last week. Miami is also in the AFC wild-card hunt after they almost suffered a collapse at home last week against Tampa Bay in which Dan Carpenter had to kick the game-winning field goal from 25 yards out with 10 ticks to get quarterback Chad Henne was taken off the hook for a terrible interception that had set the Bucs up with a go-ahead score just moments before Carpenter feild goal attempt. Ricky Williams ran for 102 yards on 20 carries and Ronnie Brown had 82 rushing yards and a TD on just 12 carries, but he left the game with an ankle injury that will keep him out for the season. Henne completed 17-of-31 passes for 175 yards and one TD which was a five-yard connection to Kory Sperry late in the second quarter. With Brown out, Ricky Williams will get the starting nod for the first time since late last season as he has 105 carries for 558 rushing yards and six touchdowns. Miami's linebacker Joey Porter is expected to be in the lineup this week but just hast 10 tackles, two assists and 2 ½ sacks in 2009. Miami TE Anthony Fasano DB Gibril Wilson are listed as questionable while Carolina is an extremely healthy team with no significant players out. Carolina is a contender if Jake Delhomme continues to play like he has in recent weeks after they beat Arizona by a 34-21 score three weeks ago and then led at New Orleans for much of the game before losing 30-20 as 12 ½-point road underdogs. This Carolina team is poised for a second half run as they have a very good running game that keeps Jake in postive situations allowing him to exploit his All-Pro receive in Steve Smith. This team is playing good solid football in all 3 phases of the game while the Dolphins looked challenged in their win against the Bucs. With Ronnie Brown being out who has jump started the wildcat offense all year, there will be more responsiblity put on quarterback Chad Henne in which he is not ready to handle especially on the road in carolina tonight.

Forward Travis Outlaw is averaging 9.9 points off the bench but will have surgery Wednesday to fix a stress fracture in his left foot and is out indefinitely. In Detroit's last visit to Portland, Outlaw hit a fadeaway jumper with 8.9 seconds to beat the Pistons and Tayshaun Prince led Detroit with 26 points in that contest, but the veteran forward has missed the last eight games and will miss tonight's due to a ruptured disc in his lower back as well.The Pistons loss to the Los Angeles Lakers last night trailing by as many as 28 points in the third quarter although Detroit fough hard and pulled within seven with 1:55 remaining before Lakers guard Shannon Brown scored five unanswered points. Wil Bymun scored 27 points in Sunday's 95-90 loss to Dallas and led Detroit with 24 points and six assists last night scoring 20 or more in a career-best three straight games. First-year Piston Ben Gordon rebounded from a season-worst five-point outing against the Mavericks and scored 18 points last night. Gordon averaged 14.0 points against Portland in 2008-09 with Chicago while Blazers forward LaMarcus Aldridge averaged 26.5 points as Portland swept the season series against Detroit lasy year. Portlant is coming home after a five game road trip and the first game back at home is always the toughest. With the Pistons coming to town, there won"t be that much excitement after their road trip which will enable this Piston team that plays hard to stay within that double-digit spread.

Charlotte has rarely been competitive at Amway Arena as the Bobcats are 1-9 all-time in Orlando and have dropped eight straight there by an average of 15.3 points.Howard averaged 23.8 points, 16.8 rebounds and 3.4 blocks during those eight matchups and Lewis scored 17.3 points a game on 38.6 percent shooting in three contests against Charlotte last season.
