NBA: Finals MVP Odds

Boston’s Kevin Garnett (3:1) is the current favorite to win the NBA Finals MVP award, while Cleveland’s LeBron James is a virtual longshot at 15:1.

The Finals MVP is just one of many future odds available for the NBA playoffs. Visit Sportsbook.com for the entire list.

Kevin Garnett - Boston (3:1)

Garnett is the current top-dog as Boston still has the best odds to win the NBA title (8:5) and he’s the heart and soul of the team. However, Boston has struggled in their opening series against Atlanta, and they must start playing much better for the “Big Ticket” to have a chance.

Kobe Bryant – LA Lakers (4:1)

Bryant is likely going to win the regular season MVP and this one would mean even more. Bryant and the Lakers looked tremendous in their four-game sweep over Denver and he provides better value for this prop than Garnett.

Tim Duncan – San Antonio (6:1)

Duncan has won this award three times although he did lose last year to his teammate, Tony Parker. Duncan is a very unselfish player and it wouldn’t be surprising to see him lose this award again even if the Spurs are crowned.

Chris Paul – New Orleans (8:1)

Paul has looked tremendous in his first playoff series, and he will surely be the MVP if New Orleans wins an NBA title. That said, the Hornets are still longshots to even make the Finals and that hurts Paul a lot.

Chauncey Billups – Detroit (8:1)

Billups won this award in 2004 when the Pistons won the title over the Los Angeles Lakers. This year, Detroit has their hands full in the opening round against Philadelphia, and Billups has really played poorly, especially shooting the ball.

Deron Williams – Utah (8:1)

Utah is an undervalued team to win the NBA title at 10:1 odds. That makes the sensational Williams a value pick at 8:1 here. One note of caution is that teammate Carlos Boozer is also very capable of winning this award.

Tony Parker – San Antonio (8:1)

As mentioned above, Parker won this award last year, and he’s also played incredible in the playoffs so far this year. While Parker could theoretically win this award two years in a row, it’s still a longshot.

Pau Gasol – Los Angeles (8:1)

Gasol has been a great complimentary player to Kobe Bryant this year, and they would have no chance of winning an NBA title without him. That said, there’s little chance he could outshine Bryant enough to win this award.

Paul Pierce – Boston (8:1)

Pierce is overshadowed by Garnett but he has the ability to get very hot offensively, and even carry the team for a series. That would give him major consideration if Boston is able to bring home banner #17.

Manu Ginobili – San Antonio (8:1)

Ginobili is part of the three-headed Spurs monster with Duncan and Parker and he’s just as vital to the team’s success. If the Spurs go all the way, Ginobili will get a lot of sympathy from voters due to his hard nose style.
