As for me, I'm thinking about heading out to Vegas for my birthday this year, but I'm not quite sure if I'll have the money.
No immediate plans for me, though I would really like to go sometime soon. It would just require time off work, and of course the funds to do some serious gambling.
My sister and brother-in-law got married there. No lie. They didn't even gamble, they just took in visits to the aquarium, conservatory, saw a show, Freemont Street Experience, the fountains.
They have plenty of things to do for kids, too. I didn't realize how much more there was than casinos.
Did anyone watch the World Poker event they had earlier this year? Huge.
There really is a lot of family-geared activities in Las Vegas, more so than there were several years ago too, it's always evolving in a way to attract the most visitors of course. There are plenty of things for the kids to do while you are off gambling.![]()
The only bad thing is that even the family and kid-friendly activities cost an arm and a leg. No matter what type of vacation you choose - gambling or family - you're going to end up spending a lot.
Yep, Vegas, in general, is expensive. I was doing a lot of research on hotel prices, and even the hotels that are not on the strip are expensive. What is the cheapest place to stay at that is actually on the strip anyway?
Don't know exactly, would depend on when you visit.
Cheapest Hotels e-how
It isn't consistent on the strip. If there's a convention the hotel charges quite a bit more for the rooms than they normally do.
From misc. google searches: the Riviera, the Imperial Palace, Circus-Circus and the Broadway.
Thanks for the link Mike, everybody has pretty much told me the same thing, that it really depends on what is going on. I know somebody who went to Vegas when the Nascar race was going on, and rooms were significantly more expensive than usual.
Hotel prices tend to get higher around holidays and times when they are having major events in Las Vegas. I plan to go down with my family this Chris.tmas.
I plan to take my girlfriend down there for a mini-vacation. I am going to propose to her in her favorite Las Vegas restaurant. I just need to get some obstacles out of the way first
