Could you give us some examples? I haven't heard about any recent stalker cases, but I can think of a few from the past. I think it's both scary and sad that stalkers try to get into some of these people's lives, but I guess you can't stop people from taking obsessions too far.

I think it is a personality disorder.. they see these people on TV and immediately feel that they know the person, or that they are somehow entitled to know them. I actually saw a news report on stalkers where it was said that one third of celebrities at one time or another.. will receive a body part in the mail from a fan. Their have been instances where celebrities have received fingers in the mail.. from a fanatic that made a sacrifice out of admiration for the celebrity. Very hard to believe.. but their are lunatics out there. |

It's definitely due to some mental disorder. I know people who are obsessed with celebrities and athletes, but would never take their obsession to the same place that stalkers do. I think some people lack the common sense that tells them to not stalk.
