It was a disappointing finish to a stellar career in the Pacific Northwest.
Today, the Seattle Seahawks announced they've cut ties with running back Shaun Alexander after the Pro-Bowl RB passed a physical in the hopes of catching on with another team.
Alexander, a former 1st round pick of the 'Hawks, was the 2005 NFL MVP and set the record for most TDs scored in a season that year, with 28. But a series of injuries over the last two years have limited him greatly, including a wrist problem that saw him gain just 716 yards and score four rushing touchdowns a year ago.
There are believed to be a number of teams interested in Alexander, including AFC teams New England and Indianapolis. Both teams have expressed interest in bringing the former MVP in for a reserve role. The Patriots did this with Corey Dillon a few years back with solid success.
