Default Thoughts On Tony Gonzalez In A Falcons Uniform

The Kansas City Chiefs would probably like to move Gonzalez (and there are rumors backing it) because he's a veteran who wants to win and they just won't be winning for a while.

The Atlanta Falcons are among the top teams interested, which makes for quite the speculation. Gonzalez would be perfect for a young quarterback like Matt Ryan and teamed with Roddy White and Michael Turner, we might be talking about one of the better offenses in the NFC all of the sudden.

It's not a rumor that's flying high now but this one could hold a lot of significance.

    Default Love it

Seems to make total sense for the Falcons provided they wouldn't have to give up too much.

Since it makes so much sense to us it must mean that nobody on either team is considering it.

Not going to happen. Atlanta is NOT going to be a contender for a Super Bowl in the next few years.

Atlanta was interested in Gonzalez when trade rumors were circulating last season, and appear to be at the top of the list this season as well.

I think this deal is moving way past the rumor stage and could be heading toward a done deal.

Looks like you are right EaglesLinc.

    Courtesy Rotowrold:

"NFL Network's Michael Lombardi reports that there's an "80-85 percent chance" that Tony Gonzalez will be dealt to the Falcons this offseason.
Lombardi says Gonzo has already cleared his Chiefs locker in anticipation of a deal. The Chiefs lost their second-round pick in February's Matt Cassel trade and are reportedly willing to send Gonzalez to Atlanta for the No. 55 overall pick. Gonzo recently turned 33, but obviously can still play. He caught 96 passes for 1,058 yards (11.0 YPC) and 10 touchdowns in 2008. "

It would be a good deal but i don't think it shoots them to the top of Super Bowl contenders

No - not Super Bowl contenders but you have to admit that Ryan, Turner, White and Gonzalez gives you the constiuents of a good offense.

I think the Falcons would shoot to the top fo their division.

I was wrong...he did get traded to Atlanta.

BUT...I still stand by the comment about how they won't be a contendor for a Super Bowl.
