Gustav or no Gustav, early game or not, LSU did what was expected of them, and routed Appalachian State 41-13. I guess they just wanted to get over with the game and be home before the storm.

No it was not called off. The powers that be rescheduled the game for much earlier so that it would be over in time before the roads were mandated to turn one way evacuation routes.

I don't think anyone thought the end result would be much different in this one. LSU was so dominant. As to Gustav, that storm has turned out to be a real humdinger.
