Default USA Basketball Routs Australia in Olympic Quarters

Well, that was anti-climactic. In a game anticipated to be the United States' first real test of the 2008 Summer Olympics, its Australian counterparts couldn't muster much of a fight, losing 116-85 in a game America dominated from the second quarter onward.Kobe Bryant poured in 25 while LeBron James chipped in with 16 as the U.S. moved into the semifinals, where they will face defending Olympic gold medalists Argentina in the semis ...

Leave it to the Americans to dominate in the basketball arena. I was able to watch this game on a internet uplink and it was no contest. The aussies got their asses kicked all over that court.

That was some game. For Australia to be considered a serious contender, they did not put up much of a fight against our team. I knew after the first couple minutes of the game that America was going to win.

Lets face it-who does anyone think of when they think of basketball? Yeah, America, not Australia.

I don't think that they stood a chance all told. This is where America reigns supreme.

Yet another game my BIL lost out chances for betting. No more than betting against Phelps, no one would bet against America.

He was hoping for some good pay outs for the Olympics betting, but so far he either can't get challengers on friendly bets, or he loses the "official" (for lack of a better word at the moment) ones.

The gold medal game against Spain was great. Though Spain couldn't take the lead in the game at all, they kept on fighting and made it a very entertaining game. I think his name is Rudy Fernandez, he is good and will do good in the NBA. The US shot very well especially from 3 point land. I'm just glad it wasn't a complete blow out since it was the last event I watched in the olympics.
