Federer is the underdog now; however he is the top dog in earnings. I wonder how he will handle the U.S. Open bidding for his 5 straight U.S. Open titles? He seems beatable but one thing he has in his favor is the fact that Nadal has never gone beyond the quarterfinals of U.S. Open and lost in 4th round last year.

On a side note, former No. 1 of 2001 U.S. Open champ Hewitt withdrew from U.S. Open due to hip surgery. He is a favorite of mine, and it'll be great to see if he can compete and take on center stage in time.

Federer has being king of the hill for a very long time and I think the competition is catching up on him. I think he's had a look at the reality and seen that it wont be as smooth a sailing from hereon in. Glad for him with that gold medal win.

Maybe only to people who have little to no standards when it comes to winning and losing. My thought on that is if you actually have to cheat to win, then how can you seriously say you're better than the person that you beat? Sure, you won, but there is no way you're better if you have to take some kind of illegal edge or something.

I do not think that "winning is winning, even if you cheat". If you had to cheat to 'win', you know you didn't win - you only fooled the rest of us.
