Do you think people are going to be betting more or less in the future? With the economy as uncertain as it is today I think it will be more as people who are getting a little desperate start looking for ways to pad their income.

Good point. And its not a problem if your loosing, if your gambling as entertainment. I've had some long bad runs in the past with gambling but I survived. I used to be addicted to poker machines. Won a lot of money off of them in South Carolina. Lost a lot of money on them in South Carolina as well. But it was a great entertianment for me at that time of my life.

Isn't that the truth! It's the same in sports or in business. If you do something stupid and it pays off, it's ok. But if you get it wrong, you take the heat.

In poker this happens alot, not just to me alot. You make a play against your instincts, but you end up giving the opponent a bad beat. It is a horrible feeling when it doesn't go your way though. So don't go all in preflop with AK in a cash game because someone re-raises you twice! See the flop, cause they just might have AA

Yeah it happened to me in Vegas last time. It's ashame cause I was up over 3x my buy in and he had me covered.

Ouch. That's a horrible beat X_X. Worst one that happened to me was I had trip aces on the turn, went all in. Hand was A/J suited. Turns out that my buddy had A/10offsuit and had trips as well, so he called. The only card that could've saved him was a 10... and guess what showed up. X_X.
