I put my money on high hopes. Really, I was being a dumb-ass. My buddy was showing off the $100 he put on England, going on and on about how USA sucks at soccer, and I decided in a burst of genius to bet otherwise. Not $100 though. I showed a morsel of brilliance by putting $10 down against his $100. He'll be waving his wins in my face until the next game we bet on together.
