That's right Davey. I don't know what was going through his mind when he said this. If you are in a position like his, it's never okay to make assassination jokes. Now that he's fired, I don't think he'll be missed by many.

I didn't know why he was fired until just now but my thoughts echo Daveys, what the hell? He's on the radio for cripes sake! I wonder if he ever thought that people who were seriously thinking about an assassination decided to go through because of the joke he made?

but yet: Madden's unbridled act hits new low He wasn't fired right away. He had to apologize, was taken out to dinner by the general manager and "given a talkin-to". A warning is what he got a while back, so someone decided he needed more than a slap on the wrist this time.

He gets high ratings and lots of listeners. Not having him on is going to hurt the radio station more than his offensive and unacceptable remarks regarding Kennedy.

I'm not defending the guy at all...that was a nasty remark...but only slightly more shocking than his usual drivel. And I only read about it...I don't listen to guys' like this.

I was thinking, kick yourself in the ass since you just did the worst thing professionally possible. I remember a long long time ago some radio station guy was booted for telling on airways that a (black) singer needed to be lynched as her music was "that bad". He was canned so fast it was quicker than a wirl wind......I wonder what is going to happen with this dude.

I get shock news, radio, all that but talking about what he touched is really rocking the boat and bitting at the hand that feeds you, no matter how well you feed them back with clients......

I guess he just went too far this time or rather someone didn't like his joke. Most times the officials will just shrug it off but perhaps he poked fun at the wrong Senator.

I have no issues if you joke around about something serious but everyone knows its a joke, this dude went a little over the line that most are smart enough to not cross. I never really have issues with those going over the line but this one really tops it.
