BYU vs. OREGON ST

Who wins this matchup and why?

BYU lives in this bowl, it's kind of funny (last five seasons in a row i think?)
the cougars are used to rolling the UCLA bruins in this game, but i think oregon state presents a tougher challenge than the lads from westwood.

only question is: how deflated are the beavers after that civil war all-timer? the beav came up just short against hated, gimmicky oregon. if they can use this disappointment as fuel, i see OSU coming out very strong.

BYU has a video game offense led by pivot max hall, but i honestly don't think this team is quite as good as their record (10-2) suggests. they got rolled earlier in the season by a florida state team that wasn't really that good. this game is now the status quo for BYU and to me it just depends on how OSU responds from the in-state heartbreak. if they respond in the right way, dual-threat quizzy rodgers will have a huge day and OSU will win.

[the noise factor]

The Beavs were so close...but you know what they say about close. It only matters in horeshoes, hand grenades and atomic bombs. Oregon was the better team, at least on the scoreboard. As far as the match up with BYU. I think the Beavs will be fired up to get one back to end 2009 with a win. You gotta give it up for Canfield. OS wins this one behind a solid effort from the Rodgers brothers.

The Oregon State Beavers are 8-4 overall, 6-3 in the PAC 10. The BYU Cougars are 10-2, 7-1 in the MWC. Oregon State was one win away from a PAC 10 title and a trip to the Rose Bowl. They will face a Cougar team that has the 18th ranked offense in college football. These two teams have previously met eight times with the Beaver’s holding a slight five to three game edge. This will be BYU’s fifth straight appearance in this bowl.
