It might take a ten win season by The Irish to secure Charlie Weis's job as head coach. If they get of to a bad start they will be calling for his head.
I know lots of people thing the Irish will be much improved this year but I just don't see it. I think Nevada will given them all they can handle in the opener and will be definitely playing against ND opening week.

If they lose to Nevada, and they very well may, Charlie Weiss may want to sneak out of South Bend in the middle of the night and never go back.
I dunno -- I'm not quite a bandwagon jumper but I have a good feeling about Notre Dame this season...
The Irish will do well if they win 8 this season.

Irish have an easy schedule but most people are ignoring the fact that they are talented. They return 10 of 11 starters on offense and 18 overall. Claussen will take a step up this year and there are plenty of weapons for him to play with. Weis takes over play-calling duties.

I would possibly take the over on the Irish, but I'm not smoking what Lou Holtz is so I not betting on them to win a National Championship.
