| Sept 23rd, 2008 - betED.com Press Release - Trojans 24-point favorites in Pac-10 matchup The No. 1 USC Trojans, who've been idle since their thrashing of Ohio State two weeks ago, return for a Pac-10 Conference matchup against the unranked Oregon State Beavers Thursday night (9 pm ET, ESPN). USC is a 24-point favorite in betED.com NCAA College Football betting odds. The Trojans are 8-2 SU in the past 10 meetings with Oregon State, but have only managed to cover the spread in five of those games. The teams last squared off on Nov. 3 last season, when USC won 24-3 as 15.5-point home favorite. The score went under the total of 46.5. Oregon State last beat USC on Oct. 28, 2006, a 33-31 win as a 10.5-point home underdog. The last time the Trojans (2-0 SU, 2-0 ATS) were in action was a marquee matchup against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Sept 13. USC dominated the then-No. 5 Buckeyes in a 35-3 victory. The Trojans easily covered the 12-point spread, and the 38 points went under the total of 44. QB Mark Sanchez threw four touchdowns and completed 18-of-29 pass attempts for 172 yards for the Trojans. Oregon State (1-2 SU, 1-2 ATS) also had a bye in Week 4. The Beavers had an easy time in their last game, when Jacquizz Rodgers rushed for two touchdowns to pace a 45-7 win over Hawaii. The Beavers covered the 14-point spread and the score fell under the total of 58. USC is 5-0 SU in its past five, 22-3 SU in its past 25 on the road, and 6-1 ATS in its past seven. Oregon State is 5-0 SU and ATS in its past five at home. The total has gone under in four of Oregon State's past five at home. Both teams have a number of injuries. Oregon State cornerback James Dockery (knee surgery) and offensive lineman Brent McNeil (ankle/toe) are out indefinitely, and quarterback Sean Canfield (left shoulder surgery) is questionable for Thursday's game. For USC, defensive end Kyle Moore (back spasms), wide receiver Damian Williams, fullback Stanley Havili (hamstring), and running back Joe McKnight (headaches) are probable. Cornerback Shareece Wright (legal/disciplinary) is questionable, as are linebackers Chris Galippo (back) and Luthur Brown (back). Center Michael Reardon (right hip) is out indefinitely.
