| NCAA Football Betting Preview – The Atlantic Coast Conference Last season, Matt Ryan and the Boston College Golden Eagles took the ACC by storm, winning the conference with an 11-3 record that saw them on the outside looking in when the BCS laid down the law. Now Ryan is slinging the skin in Atlanta and the division is wide open. So who’s ready to take the mantle in a wide open division that nobody cares about? Let’s take a look! Clemson Tigers (+200 to win ACC) Clemson remains the early favorite to win the ACC, and one of the teams projected to go as far as the BCS Championships this season. The only question really plaguing the Tigers is the offensive line’s ability to open up the lanes for C.J. Spiller. Clemson was 6-5 ATS last season, and there only real foe was Boston College. If you want any idea of what BC is like, take a deep breath in… Boston College Golden Eagles (+3000 to win ACC) No Matt Ryan means no chance in hell for the Boston College Golden Eagles. After an 8-0 SU start last season, the Golden Eagles looked unstoppable until expectations mounted and crushed the hopes of the Eagles. Now look at them with +3000 odds to win their own conference. Yikes. Miami Hurricanes (+400 to win ACC) Miami has 16 starters returning from last year to rectify a 7-6 SU year in 2006 that wasn’t all that much better last season. Not only do the Canes have that embarrassing 48-0 loss to close out the Orange Bowl, they have to prove that this program isn’t falling apart at the seems. I’ve always loved underdogs, and they don’t get more intriguing than the Miami Hurricanes at +400. Virginia Tech Hokies (+250 to win ACC) These Hokies have hype, and the record to back it up. After claiming the ACC from Boston College last year in a decisive fashion, the Hokies looked hot. Then they met Kansas and were crushed in the Orange Bowl. Frank Beamer is a better coach than this, and his team will eclipse a 6-5 ATS record despite the personnel changes.
