| NCAAF: Win Totals make history Sportsbook.com has made college football history by becoming the first to offer Win Totals for the upcoming season. Here are some of the top teams, click here for the entire list. USC Trojans – 10.5 Wins The big question surrounding USC is who was going to take over the quarterback position from John David Booty. The answer is the highly talented Mark Sanchez, although Mitch Mustain is waiting in the wings. The defense looks tremendous, and it’s a big reason they are 5 ½-point favorites for their September 13th home game against Ohio State. Oklahoma Sooners – 10.5 Wins Oklahoma returns this season with a touted offense led by sophomore quarterback Sam, Bradford. They have a favorable schedule overall and they’re fortunate not to play highly ranked Missouri. The Sooners do play Texas on October 11th in Dallas, and the Longhorns are currently six-point chalk. Ohio State Buckeyes – 10.5 Wins The good news for Ohio State is they’ve been in the national championship game the last two years. The bad news is they got dismantled both times by Florida and LSU respectively. In addition to playing at USC, OSU is 4 ½-point favorites at a tough Wisconsin squad on October 4th. Good thing they return most of their starters on both sides of the ball. Florida Gators – 10 Wins Florida won the national championship in 2006, but struggled to a 9-4 mark last year. That was despite the Heisman Trophy efforts of quarterback Tim Tebow. Tebow is back to lead a powerful offense, but the defense must play better. The Gators open their SEC schedule on September 20th at Tennessee, and they have been installed as early 6 ½-point chalk. Georgia Bulldogs – 9.5 Wins Georgia is the number one ranked team in a lot of preseason polls. That’s what happens when you return most of your starters from a team that won its last seven games in 2007, including a 41-10 win over Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl. Quarterback Matthew Stafford is the biggest name of this talent laden team, and they’re one-point dogs at LSU on October 25th. West Virginia Mountaineers – 9.5 Wins West Virginia looks to be the class of the Big East even though running back Steve Slaton is gone. A big reason they’re favored is senior quarterback Pat White who loves to run. The defense suffered some losses, but they should be competitive. The real question is how will coach Bill Stewart hold up for a full season in place of Rich Rodriguez. Notre Dame Fighting Irish – 7 Wins Notre Dame is not in the class of the programs listed above, but they still receive a tremendous national following. Coach Charlie Weis has gone from savior to underachiever in his time as coach, and they hit a low point last year at 3-9. Quarterback Jimmy Clausen is a big key this year, and he hopes to spark the team as three-point favorites versus Michigan on September 13th.
