Default 2008-2009 Heisman Trophy Betting Odds

NCAA Football Futures Betting – The Heisman First Looks

BetUS Sportsbook customers who like sports betting on college football can place an NCAA gambling wager right now on who will eventually win the Heisman Trophy for the 2008 season. As usual, this is the kind of thing that will bring about a lot of speculation. If you remember last season, we covered the Heisman race as extensively as anyone. As I am catching my first look at the sportsbook Heisman odds, I would like to begin with what I hope will be the first of several pieces before the start of the college football campaign, because naturally there is a long way to go. First time around, I'm going to offer short comments on the prospects of these players, and soon we will zero in on who the top contenders in this bunch really are, relative to value, of course.

Here we go:

BetUS College Football Betting Odds

To Win Heisman Trophy 2008

Chase Daniel, Missouri QB (+650 in BetUS odds) -- He's got weapons coming back. Daniel is the trigger man of a great offense. He's got a real shot.

Chris Wells, Ohio State RB (+650 in BetUS odds) -- The best running back in the country - 235 pounds of big-time speed.

Colt McCoy, Texas QB (+1500 in BetUS odds) -- He's missing something, even when healthy. Just not spectacular enough.

Cullen Harper, Clemson QB (+2000 in BetUS odds) -- Very good, but may have to share the attention with his star running backs.

DeMarco Murray, Oklahoma RB (+1500 in BetUS odds) -- There's a chance for him to be dominant, but won't Bradford get most of the ink?

Eric Berry, Tennessee S (+5000 in BetUS odds) -- As a defensive player, he'll have to do some really spectacular things.

Graham Harrell, Texas Tech QB (+1000 in BetUS odds) -- Better than other "system" quarterbacks his program's had. Expect huge numbers again.

Jake Locker, Washington QB (+2500 in BetUS odds) -- A great runner and playmaker, but simply not consistent enough as a passer.

Jeremy Maclin, Missouri WR (+5000 in BetUS odds) -- This guy can do it all. He's a big-time darkhorse, especially if he excels again in the return game.

Joe McKnight, USC RB (+2000 in BetUS odds) -- He's good, but may have to share too many carries in the backfield to be a real "numbers" contender.

John Parker Wilson, Alabama QB (+4000 in BetUS odds) -- I just don't see him as good enough.

Juice Williams, Illinois QB (+2200 in BetUS odds) -- He can contend if he starts winning games with his arm and Illinois stays in the Top 10.

Kellen Lewis, Indiana QB (+3300 in BetUS odds) -- Talented, but how effective will he be without James Hardy?

Knowshon Moreno, Georgia RB ( +1000 in BetUS odds) -- Has a real chance if Georgia contends for the national crown, as some people think it will.

LeSean McCoy, Piitsburgh RB (+1000 in BetUS odds) -- Incredibly talented, and has a chance to put up huge numbers. But how far will Pitt go?

Mark Sanchez, USC QB (+2000 in BetUS odds) -- Just being the Trojan QB doesn't necessarily make you a contender. His backup (Mitch Mustain) may be better.

Matt Grothe, South Florida QB (+5000 in BetUS odds) -- Is he a good enough passer? His team would have to go near-undefeated for this to happen.

Matthew Stafford, Georgia QB (+1500 in BetUS odds) -- I don't think he is as good as advertised.

Michael Crabtree, Texas Tech WR (+1000 in BetUS odds) -- Will have big numbers again, and either him or Harrell could earn a trip to the Downtown A.C.

Patrick White, West Virginia QB (+1200 in BetUS odds) -- He's a do-everything quarterback, and has not gotten enough credit - yet.

Percy Harvin, Florida WR (+1000 in BetUS odds) -- An all-around threat that could be the player receiving the accolades in Gainesville this year.

PJ Hill, Wisconsin RB (+1500 in BetUS odds) -- Will be the workhorse for a possible Big Ten champion. If that happens, he's in the running.

Rudy Carpenter, Arizona State QB (+3000 in BetUS odds) -- Carpenter, in my mind, comes up short. The schedule is tougher this year.

Sam Bradford, Oklahoma QB (+1600 in BetUS odds) -- As a sophomore, this could be his time. But can he repeat the numbers (1st in pass efficiency, for example)?

Noel Devine, West Virginia RB (+1800 in BetUS odds) -- Hey, if he gets seven or eight yards a carry again, you can't help but consider this speedster.

Tim Tebow, Florida QB (+300 in BetUS odds) -- Somehow, I just don;t see a repeat of those numbers, or in the votes.

Todd Boeckman, Ohio State QB (+3300 in BetUS odds) -- Among this crop, a quarterback who simply "doesn't beat himself" doesn't rate.

Todd Reesing, Kansas QB (+2000 in BetUS odds) -- He'll be a solid contender, but he'll be tested by a better schedule.

Tyrod Taylor, Virginia Tech QB (+4500 in BetUS odds) -- Certainly not if he's got to split any time with Sean Glennon

More to come, quite obviously.

The 2008 NCAA college football betting season is coming, and if you like to bet on college gridiron action, you should sign up today and bet at Betus.com sportsbook - Click Here!!!
