This article will separate the pretenders from the contenders in an effort to help BetUS college football online bettors everywhere. Now, before someone tries an unsuspecting onsides kick or something, let’s get started. To Win 2008 Heisman Trophy The Bets Bets Tim Tebow +300 Florida Junior quarterback Tebow took the college football world by storm in 2007, becoming the first sophomore to win the award. If Tebow stays healthy, it’s his award to lose. Chase Daniel +650 Missouri Senior quarterback Daniel had the Missouri Tigers one win away from a spot in the BCS National Championship Game and will have his team in National Championship contention again in 2008. Chris Wells +650 Ohio State Junior Running Back Wells led the Buckeye rushing in 2007 and is considered the odds-on-favorite to be the first back drafted in the 2009 NFL Draft. Todd Reesing +2000 Kansas Junior Quarterback Reesing won’t be playing quarterback in the NFL at only 5-9, but is so masterful at not making mistakes he will definitely have a chance if the Jayhawks contend for the national title. Sam Bradford +1600 Oklahoma Sophomore Quarterback Bradford had a sensational first year as the Sooners QB and set a national freshman record for most TD passes in a season. It’s scary to think he’s only going to get better. Michael Crabtree +1000 Texas Tech Sophomore Wide Receiver Crabtree will definitely have a shot after posting absolutely sick numbers,(134 receptions for 1,962 and 22 touchdowns) last season. Crabtree also scored three touchdowns in four straight games at one point. Contenders Patrick White +1200 West Virginia Junior Quarterback White guided West Virginia within one game of a national championship appearance last season and possesses jaw-dropping passing and running abilities. If the Mountaineers contend, so will White. Rudy Carpenter +3000 Arizona State Senior Quarterback The Sun Devils went 10-2 in the regular season under Carpenter last year. If the Sun Devils win the Pac-10, he’ll have a shot. Cullen Harper +2000 Clemson Senior Quarterback Harper will get some Heisman Trophy attention in 2008 after throwing 27 TD's vs. only 6 INT's in 2007 Todd Boeckman +3300 Senior QB Ohio State Boeckman guided the Buckeyes to an 11-1 record last season and will get some Heisman attention if the Buckeyes contend for the national title. Worth a Shot Matthew Stafford +1500 Georgia Junior Quarterback Stafford led Georgia to a Sugar Bowl season in 2007 and will be a serious candidate if the Bulldogs contend for the national championship again. Graham Harrell +1000 Texas Tech Senior Quarterback Harrell threw 48 touchdown passes and only 14 interceptions and could contend if the Red Raiders overachieve. Pretenders Colt McCoy +1500 Texas Junior Quarterback McCoy fizzled in 2007 after a fine start, finishing with 22 touchdown passes and 18 interceptions. Unless he improves, he can kiss it goodbye. Knowshon Moreno +1000 Georgia Sophomore Running Back Moreno finished 2007 with 1,334 yards and 14 TD, nice numbers that could get him noticed if the Bulldogs shine again in 2008. Dark Horses These two players are two of the most athletically gifted players in the country and could shock the college football world. Jeremy Maclin +5000 As a freshman in 2007, Maclin had a tremendous season, catching 80 passes for 1,055 yards and nine touchdowns while adding another 375 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. Juice Williams +2200 Illinois Sophomore Quarterback Williams may be the most athletically talented signal caller in all of college football. If the Fightin’ Illini contends, so will Williams. The Rest DeMarco Murray +1500 Eric Berry +5000 Jake Locker +2500 Joe McKnight +2000 John Parker Wilson +4000 Kellen Lewis +3300 LeSean McCoy +1000 Mark Sanchez +2000 Matt Grothe +5000 Percy Harvin +1000 PJ Hill +1500 Noel Devine +1800 Tyrod Taylor +4500 Dead Heat Rules Apply Last edited by Qbins Missile Crisis; 07-07-2008 at 11:40 PM. |
