| NCAAB: Title Odds Get ready for an historic Final Four featuring all four number one teams for the first time in NCAA Tournament history. Check out the odds at Sportsbook.com to win the National Championship and put in your pick early. North Carolina (8:5) This is North Carolina’s first trip to the Final Four since they won the national title under current coach Roy Williams back in 2005. North Carolina is now the solid favorite and it’s well warranted. The Tar Heels breezed through the tournament before meeting up with Louisville in the Elite Eight. The Cardinals gave them everything they could handle, but UNC and Tyler Hansbrough rose to the occasion down the stretch. One area of concern is that the Heels have played all games so far in this tourney in their home state, but this team seems ready to take on the road challenge. Kansas (3:1) Kansas is making its first Final Four appearance since 2003, when ironically, Roy Williams was the coach. This is the first Final Four for Coach Bill Self at any of his stops. The Jayhawks have not won the national title since 1988 when they had Player of the Year Danny Manning and legendary head coach Larry Brown. The Jayhawks cruised into the Elite Eight before looking tight against ‘Cinderella’ Davidson, but Stephen Curry and company had that effect on a lot of teams. Now, they face a North Carolina team that can match their talent level, and that is why they’ve been installed as early 3 ½-point underdogs. UCLA (3:1) UCLA made the Final Four for the third straight year, losing to eventual champion Florida in the last two. The last time the Bruins won the title was in 1995 under Coach Jim Harrick. UCLA struggled with Texas A&M in Round 2, but then played very well against Western Kentucky and Xavier. This year’s Bruins team is molded by their coach Ben Howland. Howland has preached defense from the beginning of training camp right through now. That has paid off as UCLA is one of the best defensive teams in the country. The Bruins have a savvy backcourt but their big man, freshman Kevin Love, could have trouble with the athleticism of the Memphis frontcourt. That’s one reason the Bruins have opened up as slight 1 ½-point dogs to the Tigers. Memphis (3:1) This is Memphis’ second trip to the Final Four. The first came in 1985 with a team led by Keith Lee. Memphis does not have a national title to its name despite their storied history. Coach John Calipari does have some Final Four experience after making it with Marcus Camby and UMass back in 1996. Memphis struggled early in this tourney but rebounded with convincing wins over Michigan State and Texas. Calipari has done a great job motivating his team by playing the underdog card. A lot of the bracket ‘experts’ had Memphis as the first number one seed to be eliminated, but this team believes in itself.
