Default Calhoun treated for skin cancer

Connecticut men's basketball coach Jim Calhoun announced Friday that he is being treated for a form of skin cancer.

Calhoun spoke at a press conference Friday and said he underwent a procedure on his upper right neck on May 6. The cancer was removed, along with a small portion of the salivary gland and 37 additional lymph nodes from lower in the neck.

I am so glad to hear that he is all right. I don't know too much about skin cancer so I was wondering if there is a possibility of a relapse?

I hope he takes it easy and doesn't strain himself.

He's a good coach, I'm not a fan of UCONN hoops, but I never wish for a coach of a sports team to have bad health, that's just not right! LOL

Even when I don't know the person or in this case a fan, I always hope that they have good health. Like Qbins said wishing bad health on a person just isn't right

Depending on the type of skin cancer it might be harder to beat than many thing. From what I have researched some are really tricky to deal with and while some can be bounced back from with treatments quickly rather than harder ones like Melanoma.

37 additional lymph nodes ..........that seems like a damn big area. I know there are those under the chin area when your sick they swell and whatnot, the ones the doctors always check. Thinking of 30+ though makes me wonder if its spreading and he just doesnt want fans to know.
