Default Denis Kang Prepares to Fight Gegard Mousasi in Japan

The last time Bodog Nation spoke with Canadian middleweight Denis Kang, he was one of the hottest free agents in the world of mixed martial arts. Fresh off an unbeaten 23-fight streak and a second-place finish in the Pride middleweight tournament, he was entertaining different offers from several of the top organizations.

Now, Kang has found a home for his fighting skills in the new Japanese MMA event, Dream, and on April 29, he will take on Bodog Fight veteran Gegard Mousasi in the first round of their middleweight tournament.

We caught up with Kang to talk about his training, the fight and what he thinks about the UFC middleweight division.

Bodog Nation: So, what's been going on?

Denis Kang: Just training as usual, man. I'm up in Canada right now, training with Revolution. I'm not in Pride anymore. Now, I'm with K-1 Hero's, although now it's called Dream, and I'm beginning the Grand Prix very soon. I'm leaving for Japan tomorrow.

BN: Talk about training at Revolution.

DK: It's awesome, man. We got a lot of good coaches there, like Bibiano Fernandez and Paul Lalonde. Bill Mahood is running the conditioning and overall training. Plus, I've got lots of training partners there like Todd Gouwenberg, Kajun Johnson and Tyler Jackson, and I bring up guys from Florida too. I've got Jorge Santiago coming up, and Bristol Marunde was just here. I was training with Jason MacDonald. There are a lot of guys.
